freqVectorsEdit v3.1 Released…

A new version of freqVectorsEdit (v3.1) is now available from my Github repository. This is a major update showing frequencies (matching turbo frequency in green) and the HWP enable state:

The bold text is for the used/matching board-id. Here is the complete commit log:

– Use frequency instead of index in filename.
– Function _getLFMFrequency now reads the binary file.
– Function _patchLFM now relies on binary file instead of .dat file.
– Function _getLowestFrequency (minimum ratio) added.
– Function _getHighestFrequency (maximum ratio) added.
– Show ‘Unknown Model’ in red.
– Function _getHWP added.
– Function _getFrequencies added.
– Show matching board-id in bold.
– Show Frequencies and HWP setting.

One last note. This version no longer uses .dat files.

    • No. You want to see what it is that you are using. As in before and after you change it.

      Also. One of the next updates should no longer mess with the Resources/Mac-*.plists but create a Apple892.kext alike injector. I had hoped, now that I am busy with private stuff, that someone else would assist me with this, but that didn’t happen. I have code that copies, renames and mods stuff but it’s not quite ready.

      • I think make a top notification can be better. But you said that you are busy and… Just take it easy. 😀 Hope everything will be fine with you!

        Regards,
        PMheart

  2. Why output of mine is very diff with your?

    • Hm. A lot of missing model names. You probably have an older version of: ~/Library/ssdtPRGen/Data/models.cfg Which is where the script gets the names from. You better remove it and let freqVectorsEdit.sh download the latest new one.

      • Thank you!
        It’s almost same with your after delete folder ~/Library/ssdtPRGen/Data,
        missing board-id Mac-551xxx and missing HWP feature label on board-id Mac-65Cxxxx

    • For the ThermalLevelsSupported property to show up you need to add the SMC key QCLV (ui8/data:AA==).

      You also want the SMC key DPLM ({lim/data:AAAAAAA=) for the currentLimit properties. I think, but I’m not sure.

      The omission of the PLimitVersion property. Well. That is an old one. It might be something in the DSDT or another SMC key. Can’t remember what it was. Sorry.

      Edit: Take a look at this snippet that can be found in the iMac17,1

          OperationRegion (PLMT, SystemIO, 0x0310, 0x0A)
          Field (PLMT, WordAcc, NoLock, Preserve)
          {
              CPLT,   8,
              IGPS,   8,
              MPLT,   8,
              CFIL,   8,
              EGPS,   8
          }

      • thank you
        ThermalLevelsSupported show up with the SMC Keys
        for PlimitVersion I already have this in my DSDT but don’t work
        OperationRegion (PLMT, SystemIO, 0x0310, 0x0A)
        Field (PLMT, WordAcc, NoLock, Preserve)
        {
        CPLT, 8,
        IGPS, 8,
        MPLT, 8,
        CFIL, 8,
        EGPS, 8
        }

      • Ok cool.

        1.) Did you add calls like this: Store (name, Zero) from a master _INI method? This should run before anything.

        2.) Did you check values by printing them out from a _DSM method?

  3. no just added
    OperationRegion (PLMT, SystemIO, 0x0310, 0x0A)
    Field (PLMT, WordAcc, NoLock, Preserve)
    {
    CPLT, 8,
    IGPS, 8,
    MPLT, 8,
    CFIL, 8,
    EGPS, 8
    }
    can you give me an example?

    thank you for your nice work 🙂

  4. found this in iMac Cpu0Ist CPLT.
    Method (_PPC, 0, NotSerialized) // _PPC: Performance Present Capabilities
    {
    Store (CPLT, Local0)
    Return (Local0)
    }
